I have such a heavy heart right now. This whole ordeal in Dallas is just so upsetting. This shooting casts a shadow over a peaceful protest that is bringing attention to a cause that truly matters. Black lives matter plain and simple. The fact that black lives matter should not mean that police lives don't matter either. But the reality is that as an African American woman I do live in fear of being pulled over from policemen. I do live in fear for my family, my brothers, my father, my man. They are black men. And right now the way things are, I have a right to be concerned.
I just pray that everyone can come together in this time and they spread love and not hate. Because at the end of the day we are all humans and we should all matter.
