Wedding Wednesday Part 3

Hey yall today on the blog I am spilling the tea on my wedding planning so far!
This past couple of weeks have been by far so stressful but one of the best methods to stay on track has been doing this wedding series. It has enabled me to share with you the journey of wedding planning and giving you a peak into the whole wedding planning venture.

So this week I had unexpected left turn in negotiations of the wedding dress of my dreams.
I actually used a wedding dress app to create a dress that worked with my body shape and a mix of Pinterest photos to inspire the dream dress.

As this is my second time around with my sweetheart Michael I wanted to do a different style than last time and so using inspiration from these sources helped me hone in on the vision. So you can imagine my disbelief when the negotiations feel out on this dress. I have been using the website www.PreownedWeddingDresses.com as there are high end luxury pre-owned and gently used dresses on the site. So this has definitely been a blessing and a curse.

To look at it in a positive way the cost of the dress was a bit of a stretch as we had decided on a budget for the entire event and with lots of creativity and strict adherence we can make it.... only if I am dedicated to the cause. So with shock and relief I have decided to let that dress go as I am not willing to negotiate more for the dress( Also when purchasing a used/gently owned dress you have to keep in mind the additional costs that go into purchasing(Alterations($100+) Shipping & Dry Cleaning if its used). These small costs all add up and can definitely effect the overall cost of the dress.

So I had to go back to the drawing board basically and re-review the wedding dress style I like and I only have about 30 days til the ceremony! So wish me luck! I am seriously so excited to see how everything works out with the final dress decision. After re-reviewing the style I like I couldn't help but show yall my main dress muse!

The dress below is my DREAM DRESS from the famous and sooo classy dress designer Oscar de la Renta( Style 92e25) .

The dress has this gorgeous and elegant and playful skirt style that transcends time!! Yess I am obessessed lol. The first time I saw this elegant design was in 2010 & even 8 years later it still inspires my wedding style!

Next thing on my list is the Cake!! The Cake Vendor I had planned on using has a family reunion the weekend of the wedding so that definitely was not good news to hear. So now we are currently looking for a local bakery for our "PARTY CAKE". I want the cake to have like a gold foil layer incorporated or more of a naked cake look to! Like the examples below:

Naked Cake Look With Gold Foil!

* Tip once you say the word WEDDING they will charge you another $100 minimum to do the SAME cake!! So if you are being budget conscious make sure you keep that in mind*

HIRE BAKER FOR "PARTY CAKE"

Also one of the biggest things has been to solidly book a photographer for the event. As I wasn't sure of the total amount of time needed for my wedding & vow renewal. We were looking at about 2-3 hour time to have photos for the ceremony and the reception(Cake Cutting & First Dance). Last time we had a hard time with the photographer as she booked it out of the ceremony way too fast and I don't even know where those pictures went! So this time I am seriously so focused on finding the RIGHT and PROFESSIONAL photographer yall!! Its the little things and the photographer is sooo key!!

HIRE & BOOK a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER!!

*So my key lessons this past week has been to be flexible in regards to the vision and to also stay vigilant with research on cutting costs and very open with my vendors in regards to what I want and if its possible to achieve it!*
This week has been eye opening as thigns dont always go as planned and there are still so many things left on the to-do list!

Thank yall for going on this journey with me! Also soon  Ill be going over my budget friendly wedding ideas and planning for all of the budget friendly vibes out there! This will help anyone who has questions about how I plan on executing my dream wedding for under $5000! I am sooooo excited for yall to check it all out!!! Its a long post next week so make sure your bring the popcorn and wine and enjoy!!

Til next time,

Peace & Love,
Karen Beatty
